For some products, particularly those in categories we cover regularly, we are able to review or handle the item directly. Where this happens, it is noted in the review.

Every product we write about gets a fair look at its real pros and cons. We don’t rate everything highly—if something consistently disappoints pet owners or fails on value, durability, or safety, it doesn’t make the cut.
